Working independently within Schroders, the Charity team is free to use the best investment opportunities for clients from the extensive range of Schroder managed products or external funds across all asset classes. Schroders offers both discretionary investment services as well as the opportunity of investing in specialist multi-asset products, either in combination with other funds or on a stand alone basis.
Schroders manages three Common Investment Funds. These are authorised by the Charity Commission and have an independent board charged with ensuring that the performance of the fund is in line with the stated investment objectives. The funds are specifically designed for charities and provide cost-effective access to high quality diversified portfolios. They are registered charities in their own right, as such, only charities that fall into at least one of the following categories are permitted to invest in these funds:
Registered charity - A charity registered with The Charity Commission for England and Wales.
Exempt charity - A charity which by the provisions set out in Schedule 2 to the Charities Act 1993 is exempt from registration with The Charity Commission for England and Wales.
Excepted charity - A charity, which by regulations made under the Charities Act 1993 is excepted from the need to register with The Charity Commission for England.
Appropriate body - A charity within the meaning of section 24(3B) of the Charities Act 2006.
