2015 was a difficult year for fixed income investors. Declining commodity prices and a desynchronised global economy have been met with the first Fed rate hike in a decade. Consequently, 2016 will be a pivotal year for the global economy and financial markets. The sustainability of Fed rate rises, the growth prospects for the global economy and extended asset valuations will all collide, ensuring heightened volatility and tough conditions in many assets – especially fixed income. Returns will be hard to come by across the board. Join Simon Doyle, Head of Fixed Income & Multi-Asset, and Mik Kase, Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income, as they discuss what the key issues facing fixed income investors are likely to be, where returns will come from and how we are positioning our portfolios to navigate these conditions.
