At Schroders we focus on long-term investments and we apply the same principles to our internship programme. This begins with a detailed introduction to fund management, followed by high-quality technical and interpersonal skills training – the kind that will prepare you for any graduate scheme in the industry.

It’s not all about learning; you’ll put what you learn into practice on a variety of live projects that are important to our business. This will include a group project with other interns that you'll present to senior managers at the end of your eight weeks with us.

Through a variety of social events, lunches and networking events you’ll meet interns, employees and managers from across the business. It’s a great way to not only access valuable financial industry expertise and get under the skin of our business, but also to discuss with experienced colleagues where you could next take your career.

Who we're looking for

You will need to be an ambitious self-starter with the energy and drive to learn and get involved.

With a strong academic record, you’ll be in your penultimate degree year and predicted to gain at least a 2:1 honours degree or equivalent in any discipline. We also welcome applications from final year students who plan to pursue a Masters after the internship.

For the placement year you will be looking for a placement role as part of your university degree. As long as you have a strong academic background, your degree discipline isn’t important but you should demonstrate your passion for technology and analysis.

We offer internships in a number of business areas, including Investment, Real Estate, Distribution and Product, Wealth Management, Finance, Tech, and Risk and Compliance.

We offer an industrial placement year in our Global Technology division.

Spring Insight Day

Our Spring Insight Day in April is for first year students who are keen to explore the possibilities and opportunities open to you in investment management. It’s your chance to find out what we do, what career paths are available and where you could fit in. You may have your heart set on a career in finance or this may be the first time you’ve heard the term ‘asset management’, either way, this day is designed for you.

Applications for the 2017 Spring Insight Day close on 28 February 2017.
