Investment, Real Estate, Data Insights and Wealth Management
Working closely with our portfolios, researching investment strategies and analysing potential returns. That's what you can expect on our investment programmes.
You’ll get a fantastic introduction to Investment Management on our eight-week summer Investment programme, and it's a great way to secure a full-time job after you graduate.
We invest heavily in our Internship programme to make sure it's one of the best around. As well as a detailed introduction to fund management, you can expect the kind of technical and interpersonal skills training that will prepare you for entry into our graduate scheme.
You’ll also enjoy real responsibility on projects that add value to our business in a number of our investment teams. So, you could be involved in helping with financial modelling or company analysis, attending management meetings, writing reports, helping to build investment portfolios, or updating stock screens using DataStream, Bloomberg and Reuters.
Getting long-term investments right requires a combination of insight, integrity and intelligence. It’s not easy. Which is why we give our graduate trainees access to a range of training and support. Combined with practical, hands-on experience, this will help you to build your knowledge of the issues that drive investments and returns.
It’ll test your commercial knowledge, your entrepreneurial vision and your ability to communicate persuasively with people at all levels. It’ll prepare you to take the Investment Management Certificate Exam and CFA qualification. Most of all, it’ll set you up for a varied global career in investment.
We have four investment programmes available for graduates and interns so you’ll need to decide which programme area you want to apply for, whether that’s Real Estate, Wealth Management, Investment or Data Insights:
Our Real Estate department constitutes an important part of our strategy for expansion. You’ll assist with the management of a broad range of open and closed ended real estate funds, whether that’s in single countries or whole regions, specific sectors or on a pan European basis. Your detailed research and analysis of the real estate market and investment opportunities will help to provide us with the opportunity to outperform the market.

It’s a big responsibility creating financial models, generating forecasts and making investment decisions based on risk and return, but graduates and interns play an important role in our investment decision-making process.
The Data Insights team utilise theirs skills in data engineering, statistics, analysis and visualisation to help Fund Managers make better investment decisions. This includes organising, structuring and systematically storing existing information as well as finding and creating completely new data sets and tools to create an ‘information edge’ for Schroders.
Data Consultants are responsible for delivering insights to our Fund Managers. These will take the form of ad-hoc analysis reports and presentations and the creation of prototypes and dashboards using tools such as Tableau. This requires a blend of skills including data analysis and statistics as well as good communication skills.
