60 seconds on four reasons to invest in European real estate
Duncan Owen puts forward the investment case for continental European real estate markets, which includes burgeoning growth in a number of key cities and higher income potential.
Why invest in continental European real estate markets?
There are four principal reasons:
- European real estate markets are large, with significant liquidity and good levels of transparency.
- Europe’s economy is finally turning the corner and government finances are improving.
- GDP for a number of key cities and companies is at two to three times the average of the eurozone, meaning investors can pick locations that could offer superior growth.
- European real estate offers an income return higher than is available in many other Western markets, as well as providing protection from inflation.
