We place a significant emphasis on the training and development of our graduate intake and have created a comprehensive induction programme which gives you a fantastic insight into the world of Investment Management and equips you with the skills necessary to make a real contribution, early in your career.

All graduates will complete a core induction programme which will provide you with a fundamental understanding of the Investment Management industry and of the Schroders business and culture. The programme will be classroom based and will include teaching from external specialists and internal Schroder employees. It will give you the opportunity to develop both professional skills and personal effectiveness and because it is attended by graduates from all disciplines, will allow you to build networks with your peers in other areas of the organisation. Each of the graduates will be assigned a business mentor who they will work closely with over the first 12 months of their career and who will be on hand to offer advice, support and guidance.

Once you have completed the core induction programme you will join your department and begin the first part of your specialist induction, an Introduction to Investment. Alongside your day to day role you will attend a number of lectures which will introduce you to the technical concepts employed in the fund management industry. We positively encourage the pursuit of professional qualifications and from the very early stages of your career we will expect you to begin studying for industry recognised qualifications. During the specialist induction programme you will begin working towards the Investment Management Certificate (IMC), an FSA approved threshold competency examination that aims to test knowledge of the regulations and practices of financial markets, the categories of securities and the principles of investment management.

Once the Introduction to Investment is complete graduates will begin a training programme which is division specific and has been designed to equip you with the necessary skills and resources to enable you to be successful in your roles.
