Zurich’s Corporate Savings business in the UK has launched today a new auto-enrolment default fund solution in conjunction with Schroders. The Zurich Dynamic Lifestyle Portfolio will be available to new and existing members of Zurich’s workplace pension schemes.

Schroder ISF QEP Global Emerging Markets celebrates its first year anniversary having returned 4.8% compared with a return of 1.7%for MSCI Emerging Markets (outperformance of 3.1%) since launch. Assets under management in the strategy now exceed $800 million ($100 million in the Luxembourg fund and an additional $700million across a number of segregated institutional accounts).

Schroder UK Property Fund (SPF) * has acquired the Hartlebury Trading Estate in Worcestershire for £46.2 million (£32 capital value per sq ft), reflecting a net initial yield of 10.15% from the Industrial Trust advised by Valad.

New research published by Schroders, the global asset manager, reveals that two thirds (66%) of wealthier investors are aware of the changes instituted by the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) , which took effect at the end of 2012. The research, assessing the knowledge of people with investable assets of at least £50,000, reveals that despite recent claims surrounding the implications of RDR and alleged low levels of awareness among consumers, the majority of serious investors are aware of the changes to how financial advice is delivered and paid for.

As at 31 March 2013, Secquaero advised assets under management of approximately US$280 million.....

According to a recent parliamentary publication 95% of individuals are forgoing inflation protection for their retirement income by opting for fixed rather than inflation-linked annuities. This leaves them open to inflation risk: if there were to be a substantial rise in inflation, the real value of their retirement benefits could be severely eroded.

Columbus UK Real Estate Fund, advised by Columbus Capital Management LLP, has completed the acquisition of the Met Quarter in Liverpool. The centre was acquired from Irish investors for £21m; a triple net initial yield of 8.5% and a capital value £154 per sq ft. Royal Bank of Scotland has provided a new senior debt facility to assist with the acquisition.

A recent survey of 122 professional investors based in Germany, undertaken on behalf of Schroder Property, revealed that banks are currently being as restrictive in granting real estate loans as they were after the collapse of the US investment bank Lehman Brothers in the autumn of 2008, according to 74 per cent of the participants.

The world's largest independent producer and distributor of sports programming has agreed to pay an annual rent of £26.75 per sq ft (£288 per sq m) on a new 15-year lease.

Columbus UK Real Estate Fund, advised by Columbus Capital Management LLP, has completed the acquisition of four industrial estates in Battersea, London SW11, Cheltenham, South Manchester and Cambridge. The estates were all acquired in separate transactions and have an aggregate price of approximately £17m; an initial yield of 9.25%. The 390,000 sq ft portfolio has an overall vacancy rate of 15% and a yield on rental value of 11%.
