Tim started his investment career in 1992 when he joined the private client division of Robert Fleming & Co, the family owned merchant bank. In 1999 he moved to Mercury Asset Management specialising, again, in UK private clients and he remained at Mercury's successor companies until joining Schroders in 2010.

He has an MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and holds the Securities and Investment Institute Diploma.
