Community and social impact
How Schroders contributes to a more equal and inclusive societySchroders Giving
We partner with charities that promote equality and protect our planet.
Making an impact
We encourage employee donations, fundraising and volunteering.
Breaking down barriers
We leverage our charity partnerships to provide employment opportunities to underrepresented groups.
Through Schroders Giving partnerships, we boost our impact on wider society
We partner with charities including IntoUniversity in the UK, Beyond Social Services in Singapore and Harlem Lacrosse in New York to support their work promoting equality, tackling social mobility and supporting mental health. All areas which are fundamental to the success of our own business, too.
And our people also have their say. They nominate causes close to their hearts in our annual global charity competition. Winners, voted by colleagues and Schroders’ Board member judges, have included charities Yayasan Mendaki, Grahamstown and Sunshine Coast Hospice and the Siobhan’s Trust.
Building a better world starts with empowering people
At Schroders, we want to give our people the opportunities to drive change for the better. That’s why we support them with paid time off to volunteer their time and talent, as well as generous matching schemes to boost their donations and fundraising. In the UK alone, we supported over 1,300 charities through our payroll giving scheme in 2021.
Collective action in action
We run global collective action charity appeals around important causes. Like supporting UNICEF to deliver 100,000 Covid-19 vaccines to vulnerable people around the world in 2021 and supporting more than 90 charities on the frontline of the pandemic in 2020. For every donation our people made, we matched it to meet our targets even faster.

Better You, Better World
Our ‘Better You, Better World’ campaign also saw our people develop their skills whilst making an impact in their local communities. Over six weeks, teams clocked up more than 700 hours of volunteering globally - from solving challenges posed by social enterprises in the UK, to making pop-up children’s books in South Korea and teaching aids in China.
Breaking down barriers
Getting started in the world of work can be a tough transition for anyone. We work with our charity partners to run fast track events for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, whether it’s the Social Mobility Foundation or Into University. We’ve sponsored internships for neurodiverse people with Fundación A La Par in Madrid and supported migrant women with job searches and interview preparation with Dress for Success in Luxembourg.
2023: £5.4 million (2022: £5.2 million) collectively donated by our people and Schroders to charitable causes around the world.
