We are delighted to announce that Schroders won the Best Investor Engagement Award at IR Society’s Best Practice Awards 2020.
Schroders was recognised in a shortlist of over one hundred investors following the results of a perception survey conducted by Institutional Investor on behalf of the UK IR Society.
Investor Relations Officers from some of the UK’s most influential businesses voted for Schroders as the firm that represented best practice in investor engagement.
The judges assessed institutions across four categories; knowledge of each corporate’s sector, active engagement to support and encourage long-term business plans, ongoing feedback and communications and efficient fund manager engagement co-ordination across different funds at the firm to ensure efficient use of corporate’s time.
Elly Irving, Head of Engagement, Schroders, commented:
“This award is testament to how active asset managers can positively influence the companies they invest in through engagement.
“At Schroders we really believe that investors can be a catalyst for change, and are constantly having a dialogue with companies about how we as investors can help them gain a deeper understanding of the risks and opportunities they face, whilst also educating them on the importance of sustainability and governance.
“For example, in the third quarter alone, we voted at 931 company meetings and had 225 company engagements. This award is therefore reflective of our ongoing hard work and commitment to active ownership.”
