Partnering with you through COVID-19

The outbreak of COVID-19 is impacting all of us. It has understandably caused market disruption and made us worry about our family and friends.

At Schroders, our clear commitment is that we will continue to put our clients’ interests first. We will do all we possibly can to communicate what is happening in markets and in your portfolios and manage client investments through these uncertain times. We are fortunate to have an ownership structure and strong capital base which enables us to take a truly long-term perspective and stay focused on our strategy and delivery for clients, in any market environment.

We have strong business continuity plans in place

We are confident that our business is able to withstand the disruption we all face. We already have robust contingency plans in place, including business continuity measures to maintain the resilience of our business and protect the health and safety of our clients, employees and guests. In addition, we have also confirmed that all our material outsourced service providers are also able to meet their obligations to us and have their resiliency programs in place.

All of our offices across our 34 locations globally continue to be fully operational and we’ve introduced split-working to reduce the number of people in our offices at one time, which means groups of employees are alternating working remotely. They are fully equipped with secure access to our systems, are following normal working hours and keeping in regular contact with clients and colleagues. We are continuing to closely monitor developments and follow the advice of government agencies.

For many years, Schroders has been placing greater focus on workplace flexibility and has invested in technologies to ensure our people can work remotely. We can say with conviction that we firmly believe that these measures will not affect our ability to manage client portfolios and will enable us to continue providing you with the service you expect.

In Australia, Schroders has an Incident Management Team meeting regularly to monitor the evolving situation locally and ensure issues regarding the operation of our business and safety of our employees and clients are managed in a timely manner, and that any impacts are minimised to the extent possible. This team is working closely with corresponding teams across Asia and Schroders’ head office in the United Kingdom.

We have introduced restrictions on non-essential travel to all international locations for our employees. If this has an impact on any meetings we have planned with you, we will let you know and make suitable alternative arrangements.

People attending our offices

We are currently not restricting visitors or events in our buildings, unless they specifically relate to affected areas. However, some external events are being postponed and we are continually reviewing our guidance in light of the developing situation.

If you are planning to attend a meeting or event at our offices, we respectfully ask you to inform us if you may be ‘at-risk’ of COVID-19, so that alternative arrangements can be made. Please see your local government guidelines for the latest definitions of ‘at-risk’.
