The charities our #CollectiveAction campaign has supported
With the aim of helping vulnerable people affected by the pandemic, Schroders employees have raised more than £3.8 million for more than 40 charities in three months. The impact of our #CollectiveAction campaign has been remarkable.
We have helped to provide vulnerable children, families and frontline workers with food and essentials. Employees’ donations and imaginative fundraising efforts have also been supporting those suffering with mental health issues and victims of domestic abuse.
Before the fundraising, the first step was to ask employees which themes we should focus our charitable efforts on. They chose:
- Helping the helpers
- Providing food and essentials
- Supporting vulnerable people (domestic abuse victims and those struggling with mental health)
From The Trussell Trust network of food banks in the UK to Taiwan Fund for Children and Family, here are the charities our people have supported around the world since 17 April.
The charities #CollectiveAction has supported to improve futures around the world
In the UK:
- The Trussell Trust network of food banks
- FareShare, the charity fighting hunger and food waste
- Magic Breakfast, which provides healthy breakfasts to children at risk of hunger
- Samaritans, the emotional support helpline
- National Emergencies Trust, which distributes funds to reach the most vulnerable in local communities
- NHS Charities Together supporting NHS Charities all over the UK
- Age UK supporting older people through the crisis
- Children in Need exists to change the lives of children and young people in the UK
- World Health Organisation Solidarity Response Fund support countries to prevent detect, and response to the pandemic
- Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) providing urgently needed medical care and support in more than 70 countries
In Europe, the Middle East and Africa:
- Stockholms Stadsmission fight for social care, work integration and education
- Mødrehjælpen improve conditions for vulnerable families with children
- Doctors Without Borders provide urgent medical care and support
- Caritas provide emergency relief
- Italian Civil Protection Department’s emergency response to coronavirus
- Caritas España provide humanitarian aid
- Cruz Roja Española, the Spanish Red Cross, work across a number of areas including social inclusion, health and education
- Ayuda en Acción provide emergency relief
- Gluckskette, Swiss Solidarity, implement high-quality humanitarian and social projects
- Münchner Tafel e.V. and Frankfurter Tafel e.V. are networks of food banks
- The French Red Cross provide healthcare and social welfare services
- Fondation de France facilitate collaboration across organisations to build a better world
- Women Safe provide free support to anyone experiencing violence in their relationships
- Emirates Airline Foundation improve the quality of life for children
- Dubai Cares work to ensure inclusive and quality education for all
- Al Jalila Foundation are dedicated to transforming lives through medical research, education and treatment in UAE
In the United States:
- NYC Cares provide volunteers to tackle the city’s toughest issues
- City Harvest redistribute rescued food from restaurants to hungry New Yorkers
In Asia Pacific:
- Taiwan Fund for Children and Family provide services to vulnerable children and families
- Flourish Australia support people with mental health issues
- Shanghai Charity Foundation fight for education, health and decent income
- Food Angel provide hot meals which are redistributed to low-income communities in Hong Kong
- Music Children’s Foundation introduce music to children in low-income communities
- The Nesbitt Foundation empower adults with learning disabilities
- HandsOn provide a network of volunteers
- ReadyFor is a Japanese crowdfunding platform for the service sector
- ChildFund Korea work for the welfare of children
- Happy Hearts Indonesia rebuild schools and restore hope for children

Schroders has long supported employees in their charitable efforts, from matching donations or fundraising through Payroll Giving to a time-matching scheme for volunteering.
We want to do the right thing.
It is also why the company is a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, which is driving progress towards the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. The UN Global Compact is a voluntary initiative based on CEO commitments to implement universal sustainability principles and to take steps to support UN goals.
