Schroders Capital’s real estate team has won three awards in the MSCI UK and European Property Investment Awards for 2023.
The awards recognise top performing funds across the real estate investment landscape.
Schroders Capital’s Real Estate team was recognised with the following:
- Schroder Real Estate Investment Trust (‘SREIT’) won the ‘Highest 10-year risk adjusted relative return’ award for all UK funds. The total return achieved by SREITs underlying portfolio was 8.45% per annum[1].
- Schroder Real Estate Investment Trust (‘SREIT’) also won the ‘European long-term risk-adjusted relative return' award for all European funds.
- HIFML UK Property Fund won the ‘Unlisted Pooled Balanced Funds with end-period Capital Value under or equal to £1.5bn’ award. The total return achieved by the underlying portfolio over the three year assessment period (from end Dec 2020 to end Dec 2023) was 7.46% per annum[2] compared with the peer group total return (UK Annual Index) of 1.95% per annum.
Nick Montgomery, Head of Real Estate UK, Schroders Capital, said:
“Schroders Capital’s Real Estate team is delighted to have won these three MSCI performance awards. SREIT’s award as the top performing fund in UK and all of Europe is testament to our long-term focus on investing in assets offering strong fundamentals, and then enhancing returns through an entrepreneurial, active management approach.
“It is also fantastic that HIFML has won the three-year performance award. These assets moved to Schroders in May 2022, and the award illustrates our efficient approach to transitioning portfolios whilst enhancing performance. We are grateful to our clients and investors for their support as we have implemented these strategies.”
The awards are based upon independently verified direct real estate investment performance by pension and life funds, unlisted pooled funds, property investment companies and other professionally managed real estate portfolios. They relate to the performance of the underlying portfolios held by the relevant funds.
Eligible funds were measured to December 2023 in accordance with MSCI Real Estate Portfolio Services, globally defined data standards and performance measurement procedures.
