Schroders plc today announces that Annette Thomas will join the Board as an Independent Non-executive Director, effective 1 September 2023. She will also join the Nominations Committee and the Remuneration Committee.
Annette currently serves as senior advisor to General Atlantic and as an independent non-executive director with Pearson plc where she chairs the Reputation and Responsibility Committee.
The Company is also announcing that, following his recent appointment as Group CFO of Flutter Entertainment plc (“Flutter”), Paul Edgecliffe-Johnson has informed the Board that he wishes to stand down as an Independent Non-executive Director of the Company effective 31 August 2023 in order to focus on his new role.

Biographical Details
Annette has a 25-year track record in leading global publishing and data analytics businesses, across academic, educational and consumer media verticals.
Most recently, she served as CEO of Guardian Media Group, a position she held until June 2021. Prior to this, Annette was CEO of the Web of Science Group at Clarivate PLC, a data, analytics and software business focused on research and higher education. She has also served as CEO of Macmillan Publishers and led the digital and global transformation of Nature Publishing Group.
Annette is a non-executive director of EcoVadis, one of the world’s largest providers of business sustainability ratings, and OpenClassrooms, one of the largest online education and apprenticeship training platforms in Europe. Her previous non-executive experience includes serving as a Trustee of Yale University, non-executive director at Clarivate PLC, and as a Board member for Cambridge University Press and Cambridge Assessment. She has also previously acted as an advisor to Creative Commons and Bain Capital.
