Schroders is today announcing the appointment of Darren Bustin who will join Schroders Solutions on 01 September 2022, in the newly created role as Head of Schroders Solutions Capabilities. This appointment is a further investment in the business to accelerate the growth of Schroders’ market-leading offering.

He joins from Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) where he spent more than a decade, most recently as Head of Derivatives. While at RLAM, Darren worked closely with institutional asset owners across pensions and insurance, helping them manage their risk exposures and implement strategies to exploit market opportunities.
Darren will report to James Barham, Executive Chairman of Schroders Solutions. He will work closely with Schroders Solutions investment specialists across fixed income, structured equity and derivatives to design, develop and enhance existing products and solutions, as well as to create new solutions to meet the changing needs of our existing and future clients.

"We have already enjoyed significant momentum following the creation of our business earlier this year, Darren’s appointment will further support our clients and our development as we focus on the next chapter for our growing business.“
Schroders Solutions was formed following the completion of the acquisition of River & Mercantile’s Solutions division earlier this year. The business has subsequently enjoyed significant growth and has won seven fiduciary mandates in the last six months.
In addition, it has been selected by the trustees of Centrica’s pension schemes as the outsourced chief investment officer for their £10 billion assets and, more recently, was appointed the investment partner of Lloyd’s of London’s new investment platform.
Schroders Solutions, which manages over £225 billion[1] on behalf of its clients, employs 215 people, across the UK, Asia, North America and Continental Europe. The business aims to be the provider of choice for clients with complex investment and governance challenges. In the UK institutional market it offers multiple capabilities which combine to deliver clients an end-to-end solution with a specific focus on sustainability, climate integration and reporting.
