Schroders in Indonesia

In Indonesia, Schroders' presence dates back to 1991. PT Schroder Investment Management Indonesia (''Schroders Indonesia'') is a 99% owned subsidiary of Schroders Plc and licensed by Bapepam-LK (as hereinafter defined) as an investment manager with Investment Manager Licence No. KEP-04/PM/MI/1997 dated 25 April 1997. We have a comprehensive range of investment products to help client meet their financial needs and aim to provide the highest quality service to all clients throughout the world. Schroders Indonesia manages funds aggregating IDR 76.05 trillion (as of December 2019) for its retail and institutional clients in Indonesia including pension funds, insurance companies and social foundations.

Michael T. Tjoajadi

President Director

Michael has experience in the fund management industry since 1991 and joined Schroders in 1996. Prior to joining Schroders, Michael worked as fund manager in BII Lend Lease. Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Technology from Hasanuddin University and holds investment manager representative license from the capital market authority based on Bapepam Chairman Decision number KEP-18/PM-PI/1995 dated April 19, 1995.


Francisco Lautan


Francisco is also the company’s Head of Compliance and Chief Operating Officer in charge of support functions, which covers Finance, Administration and Operation. He joined Schroders in 1995 and prior to that he spent his early career in the financial industry working for AIU and Barings for 5 and 4.5 years respectively. Francisco has a Bachelor degree in accountancy from Tarumanagara University and obtained his Investment Manager Representative license from the capital market authority based on Bapepam Chairman Decision number KEP-67/PM/IP/WMI/1998.


Irwanti, CFA


Irwanti has experience in the capital market since 2006. She joined Schroders in 2008 and started to involve in investment management function since 2011. Prior to joining Schroders, Irwanti was an equity analyst at Deutsche Bank Indonesia covering banking, property, plantation and consumer sectors. Prior to that, she worked as an accountant in Sydney, Australia for 4 years. Irwanti graduated from University of New South Wales, Sydney with a Master of Finance degree and a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Irwanti holds investment manager representative license based on Bapepam Chairman Decision number KEP-39/BL/WMI/2011 dated March 15, 2011. Irwanti is a CFA charter holder.


Liny Halim


Liny has experience in capital market since 1990. Liny joined Schroders in 2009 and started to involve in investment management function since 2011. Prior to joining Schroders, Liny had worked in Baring, ING and Macquarie Securities. In 1995, Liny raked the number 1 analyst by Institutional Investor Survey, while in 1994 she was ranked number 3 by Asia Money for overall strategy, banking and automotive sector. Liny graduated from California State University of Sacramento with MBA and BSc degrees and was included in the Dean’s Honor List. Liny holds investment manager representative license based on Bapepam Chairman Decision number KEP-12/BL/WMI/2011 dated February 7, 2011.

Murray Alan Coble

President Commissioner

Murray is also Schroders’ Managing Director, South Asia and Chief Operating Officer, Asia Pacific. He joined Schroders in 1994, initially as the Group Financial Controller of Australia. Prior to joining Schroders, he worked as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu for 10 years, including over 2 years on secondment in London, UK. Murray holds a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia.


Dr. M. Chatib Basri

Independent Commisioner

Mr. Basri is the independent commissioner of PT Schroder Investment Management Indonesia since March 2018. He is an economist, researcher and professional who was formerly the Indonesian Finance Minister during 2013 – 2014. At the moment, he also holds several positions, among others are, the Chairman of Mandiri Institute Advisory Board, President Commissioner of PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance, President Commissioner of PT XL Axiata and Independent Commissioners of PT Astra International and PT Indika Energy. Dr. Basri is also a member of World Bank Advisory Council on Gender and Development and a senior lecturer at University of Indonesia. He holds a doctorate degree in Economics from the Australian National University in 2001.


Showbhik Kalra


Showbhik is also Head of Intermediary Business & Product, Asia Pacific at Schroders. He is responsible for leading the intermediary business (including retail and private banking) across the region. He is also responsible for setting regional product strategy, and leading market intelligence and product development. He joined Schroders from PIMCO where he was responsible for products in Asia-Pacific with a focus on emerging markets. He previously worked for PIMCO and Allianz Alternative Asset Management based in the United States with a focus on credit, structured products and alternatives. Earlier in his career he co-founded a company, subsequently acquired by a NYSE-listed firm, that commercialized an award-winning digital motion picture restoration technology he developed as an undergraduate. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, a master’s degree in financial engineering through a joint program between Carnegie Mellon University and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore and a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from NTU.
