Proudly supporting Black Women in Asset Management
Schroders has joined Black Women in Asset Management (BWAM), an organisation of professionals that connects and empowers Black female leaders.
With our shared goal of advancing and retaining Black female leaders across all investment strategies, this reinforces our commitment to creating an inclusive workplace.
“We’re excited to be partnering with BWAM as we collectively transform the industry together,” says Johanna Kyrklund, Co-Head of Investment and Group Chief Investment Officer & executive sponsor of Schroders Black Professionals Network.
“Supporting an inclusive environment that brings in people from different walks of life, it encourages a much higher level of diversity of thought. This is fundamental in how we improve our ability to achieve our clients’ investment objectives.”
Our employee-led inclusion group Schroders Black Professionals Network's mission is to cultivate inclusiveness in our workplace and gain new allies along the way. “The BWAM network have made a positive impact for Black women globally over a number of years,” explains Lizzie Daniels, Digital Experience Manager and Co-chair of Schroders Black Professionals Network. “With many shared objectives, including the retention and advancement of Black women in Asset Management, it was especially important for us to support them.”
Schroders’ Kimberley Lewis, Head of Active Ownership, and Remi Olu-Pitan, Head of Multi-asset Growth and Income, have both been actively involved with BWAM since its inception. They share why Schroders becoming a BWAM member matters:

“It sends an important signal to our people that Schroders is a place that’s genuinely supporting and developing Black women in this industry,” says Kimberley. “I look forward to continuing to partner with BWAM to address issues of mutual importance.”
“This demonstrates that Schroders as an organisation actively supports the advancement of Black women in the industry, and is an advocate for diversity,” adds Remi. “Together we can make a positive impact. I’m looking forward to all the great things that will come from this partnership.”
As a founding partner of the Change the Race Ratio campaign and supporter of the Black Talent Charter, our partnership with BWAM allows us to place increased focus on the retention and advancement of mid to senior-level Black female talent in the asset management industry.
