Schroders appoints High Yield Fund Manager

Schroders is today announcing further growth in its fixed income business with the appointment of Hugo Squire, who joins as Credit Fund Manager in its fixed income team to further strengthen its high yield capabilities. He will be based in London and report into Julien Houdain, Deputy Head of Credit for Europe.

Hugo joins from Muzinich & co, where he was a Credit Portfolio Manager specialising in high yield strategies having joined the investment firm in 2013. Prior to this he has held roles at Sociétié Générale and Macquarie and has over ten years’ industry experience.

Julien Houdain, Deputy Head of Credit for Europe, commented:

“Hugo is an important addition to Schroders’ credit platform. He brings with him significant experience in managing high yield portfolios.

“This appointment demonstrates Schroders’ commitment to further strengthening the firm’s credit capability to meet the developing investment objectives of clients.”

Schroders has been managing fixed income for over 50 years and has made substantial investment in building resources in the asset class. In January, the firm announced it had hired Julien Houdain as Deputy Head of Credit for Europe as the firm continues to grow its global credit capability.

Schroders manages £119.7 billion* in fixed income strategies on behalf of its clients globally, representing over a fifth of the firm’s total assets under management.
