Schroders opens Helsinki office to strengthen Nordic presence

Schroders is today announcing that it is to open an office in Helsinki, strengthening its Nordic footprint as it aims to better meet investors’ needs in the region.

Roope Relander, Schroders’ newly-appointed Client Director, will head the office and be responsible for serving the Finnish market.

Roope joined Schroders from SEB Finland on 1 May, where he was responsible for business development in the area. He has over 16 years of experience in the industry, focussed on both traditional and alternative fund investment strategies, and boasts an extensive network of relationships with Finnish institutional investors.

Roope will report into Henrik Jonsson, Schroders’ Country Head for the Nordics, who is based in Stockholm. He will also be able to draw on the strength and depth of Schroders’ distribution and investments specialists in Europe and globally.

The new office is due to open in early July, subject to regulatory approval.

Henrik Jonsson, Nordics Country Head, Schroders, commented:

“We are extremely excited to welcome Roope into our Nordics team. His breadth of experience in both institutional asset management sales and the Finnish market position him as an ideal candidate to lead Schroders new office in Helsinki.

“This opening is also a statement of our commitment to meeting the needs of investors in the region. It will bring Schroders closer to our Finnish clients, strengthening our existing client relationships, while also being able to leverage our global investment expertise for new clients.

“Our Nordic Real Estate business, run out of Stockholm, has a portfolio of investments in Helsinki and other parts of Finland. The local presence will enable us to select and manage the best investments and create further value for our international client base.”
