Schroders’ support of Armed Forces honoured with highest accolade

Schroders is proud to announce that it has been recognised with a Gold Award on the UK Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), improving on the Silver Award won in 2018.

The Gold Award, part of the Armed Forces Covenant, is the highest badge of honour and recognises that Schroders has actively demonstrated its commitment to support Armed Forces personnel, their families and veterans.

The ERS, launched in 2014 by then UK Prime Minister David Cameron, recognises employer support for the Principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, which looks to ensure those who serve or have served in the armed forces and their families are treated fairly.

Schroders will be presented with its award on 12 November 2019 at a ceremony at London’s National Army Museum.

Stuart Ellis, Assistant Portfolio Manager at Cazenove Capital and Head of Schroders’ Employee Resource Group for the Armed Forces, said:

“The accolade of Armed Forces Covenant Gold Awards demonstrates Schroders’ commitment to the highest level of support to those that have defended the UK at home and overseas.

“Schroders continually seeks to nurture talent from the Armed Forces to benefit from skills such as discipline, courage and selfless commitment – qualities that Armed Forces personnel embody which are easily transferable into Schroders’ culture.”

Ben Wallace, Secretary of State for Defence, Rt Hon said:

“These awards recognise the outstanding support for our armed forces from employers across Britain and I would like to thank and congratulate each and every one.

“Regardless of size, location or sector, employing ex-forces personnel is good for business and this year we have doubled the number of awards in recognition of the fantastic support they give.”
