There is always more work to do in building a truly inclusive workforce. We are continuing to work with under-represented groups, in particular ethnic minorities with disabilities, to listen to their experiences and design solutions which drive higher representation and break down access barriers through internships and internal mentoring program.
We recognize that each individual needs to be able to balance their role at Schroders with their personal lives. To support this, we continue to build out flexible working policies globally so employees feel supported and included. We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities and combating discrimination.
Where possible, we will continue to monitor the age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, religious beliefs and other characteristics of our workforce and job applicants. As well as focusing on the wellbeing of our employees. This allows us to concentrate on the most impactful ways to improve their experiences and will enable us to publish other data alongside our gender pay gap in the future.
Our 13 active Employee Resource Groups across the business include gender equality, sexual orientation, disability, mental health, religion and ethnicity groups. They are key to our identity as an inclusive place to work. Members run events to celebrate what’s important to them and work together to raise awareness around challenges that underrepresented groups might face.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is also led in the business both via functional groups and in-country employee-led Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Councils around the world, including North America, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, and Australia.

In May 2016, Schroders signed up to the Women in Finance Charter, a pledge for gender balance across financial services. The charter sets out to build a more gender-balanced and fair sector. Signatories pledge to commit to progressing women into senior roles, setting a strategy with measurable targets and reporting publicly on their progress.
We are committed to striving for gender equality across our business. We have achieved our latest Women in Finance Charter target of 33% female representation in senior management, up from 25% at the end of 2015. We continue to push for progress and have now set a new target of 35% by the end of 2023.
We see transparency around gender pay as integral to having more meaningful conversations around equality.

We are proud to support The Diversity Project and our Group Chief Executive is a member of its CEO Advisory Council. This is a group of leaders in the investment and savings profession that decided to take action to accelerate progress towards an inclusive culture within our industry.
Out Leadership is an organization that focuses on LGBTQ+ equality through leadership summits, talent accelerators and strategic insights. Out Leadership have assisted Schroders in reviewing our standard corporate benefit policies to ensure they are inclusive and meet the needs of our diverse workforce.
