Introducing Schroders Planet Positive, our employee-led climate action movement

COP26 is coming to an end in Glasgow, which brought leaders from around the world together to agree more ambitious targets to deliver deeper cuts in carbon emissions with the hope of meeting the 1.5C goal set by the Paris Agreement. And the stakes are high - the UN’s chief described our current trajectory as a "code red for humanity”.

But what can we do to reduce our carbon emissions and help stop the planet from exceeding the level of 1.5C? Whilst our individual actions are small, coming together and taking collective action has far-reaching impacts.

At Schroders, our people are so passionate about climate action, they’ve set up Schroders Planet Positive, our new employee-led climate action movement.

This employee advocacy platform will shine a light on climate actions as well as stories from colleagues around the world who have already made changes in their everyday lives. By sharing ideas, innovations, news excerpts, documentaries and podcasts focused on providing solutions to climate change, it seeks to inspire people to take their own climate actions.

Susan Soh, Head of Asia Pacific, and executive sponsor of the new platform, says:

Schroders Planet Positive recognises the collaborative effort we need to individually take to achieve a healthier planet and to mitigate climate change. This platform will help us move the dial on how we can individually adopt   climate action in our day-to-day lives by informing, inspiring and empowering   people around us.”

Louisa Minter-Kemp, Senior Corporate Sustainability & Communications Executive, and founder of the movement, shares:

“The magnitude of climate change and the role we can personally take to tackle it can feel paralyzing. With so much of the media focusing on what’s going wrong with the climate, how can our actions actually have an impact and where do we start? The purpose of this platform is to bring action to the forefront. We want to captivate our colleagues by coming together and offering tangible climate solutions.”
