Corporate Responsibility

Wellbeing

Our people are our biggest asset; without their dedication, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Looking after our employees and helping them create the right work-life balance is therefore a top priority. It’s important to us that our people feel valued, included and supported in their professional and personal growth.

Inclusion, diversity and collaboration

These three features lie at the heart of our corporate culture. We firmly believe that by giving each and every one of our employees a voice and embracing different perspectives, we can create an environment in which everyone flourishes. With a thriving and productive workforce, we can achieve great things, not just for our employees, clients and shareholders but wider society too.

Key to our identity as an inclusive place to work are our 13 active employee resource groups. These represent a range of causes including gender equality, disability, mental health, religion and ethnic minorities. Members run events to celebrate their heritage and also work together to raise awareness around challenges that underrepresented groups might face.

What it’s like working at Schroders

Read our approach to diversity and inclusion

With progress on diversity metrics linked to pay outcomes for senior management, we are holding our people accountable for addressing this role representation gap, as well as diversity and inclusion more broadly.

A healthy working environment

We’re proud of our people polices and the benefits we offer. These vary between jurisdictions to reflect local market practices but they all have the same aim - to help make Schroders the best place for the best people to work.

We’re continuously reviewing our people polices and benefits to make sure they continue to be fair and inclusive.

We’re not just interested in whether our people enjoy their jobs; we want to support their wellbeing too. We do this through our Wellbeing Strategy spanning five key areas: mind, workplace, body, financial and work-life balance.

As signatories to the Mental Health at Work Commitment, we follow a best practice framework from resilience and mental health training, to self-care events and access to trained Schroders mental health first-aiders.

Our Global Employee Assistance Programme also provides access to free independent and confidential support, including short-term counselling.

Flexibility is for everyone

Our industry-leading Flexible Working Charter is central to our inclusion strategy. It’s designed to empower our people to adopt working practices that best meet the needs of their team, themselves and our clients and wider stakeholders – either externally or internally.

Hear how our people around the world are making flexible working a reality in this three minute video:

An employer of choice

Becoming one of us takes individual talent, the ability to work together, and a passion for putting clients first. With diversity being such an important part of our offer, there's no one Schroders type. But all of us do share a belief in our core values:

We promote innovation & teamwork

We challenge how things are done, anticipate future opportunities and understand that delivering value will take collaboration and a healthy respect for individual skills.

We strive for excellence

Being good at what we do is a powerful way to create value for all our stakeholders and secure a long-term future for our business.

We have passion & integrity

We are realistic about what we can achieve, but are ambitious too, approaching everything we do with energy and drive. This sits alongside an openness and responsibility to deliver on our promises.

Important information:
What are the risks? Past performance is not a guide to future performance and may not be repeated. The value of investments and the income from them may go down as well as up and investors may not get back the amounts originally invested. Exchange rate changes may cause the value of any overseas investments to rise or fall.
Honesty and integrity are deeply engrained in our culture and it is everyone's responsibility at Schroders to ensure that remains the case.
However, like all organisations, we face the risk of things going wrong or of unknowingly harbouring illegal or unethical behaviour.
If you suspect wrongdoing, impropriety, unethical behaviour or have concerns regarding Schroders business practices, you may raise them confidentially.
All reports are treated in confidence and you can opt to remain completely anonymous. Schroders will receive a non-attributable summary of issues raised to address the concerns appropriately.
