Start working towards your professional qualification
We’ll start you off with an in-depth introduction to the industry and an inside view of how we work at Schroders. You’ll also take your first steps towards a qualification specific to your role.
For graduates joining Wealth Management, you will study towards the Investment Advice Diploma (IAD), a qualification closely aligned to practical client advisory roles in personal wealth management. All other graduates will study towards the Investment Management Certificate (IMC), providing a strong foundation in investment management and financial markets. From here onwards, you’ll start building your personal network with other graduates and senior leaders.
Once you complete your introductory training, you’ll join your first team.
Stay at the heart of the team from day one
We'll immerse you in real work from the get-go – and at the end of the programme, you’ll take on a permanent role in the team that best suits your skills and interests.
We welcome applications from final year students or recent grads
That includes undergraduate or masters qualifications.
Applications open each September to start in September of the next year. So if you’re still at university, you should apply at the beginning of your final year.
A dedicated buddy by your side
As well as the encouragement of teammates and line managers, we’ll introduce you to your buddy: usually a graduate from the year above, who’ll help you navigate your programme from the beginning.
Learning and growing
Expect an array of training and development sessions designed to fast track your understanding of the industry and help grow your skills and expertise. We also offer workshops focused on behavioural and cognitive skills, technical understanding and business awareness. And we’ll support you to achieve relevant professional qualifications for your role.
Like everyone else at Schroders, you’ll also have full access to our online learning platform which will help you continue to develop your expertise.
Build your network
Over the two year programme, you’ll have vast opportunities to attend a number of informal insight events and coffee hours hosted by senior Schroders figureheads across the business. It’s excellent exposure and a chance to hear from influential figures, ask your questions, and gain real insight into the business.
From the start, you’ll join a network of other graduates and attend training and events with your cohort – a great chance to meet people in the same boat as you and build relationships.
Find a balance
Away from the desk take the time to enjoy our vibrant office spaces, whether that’s soaking up some sun on one of the terrace areas, BBQ lunches in the summer, or enjoying a fitness class in our free on-site gym.
We value your academic background, but we’re just as interested in your potential - your curiosity, motivation and willingness to learn in a fast-moving workplace.
