Schroders today announces that Tom Darnowski, CFA, has been promoted to CEO Americas, effective January 1, 2025.
Tom has been with Schroders for over ten years and most recently served as the firm’s Global Head of Product Strategy, where he oversaw Schroders’ global product range and explored innovative ways to meet client needs. Prior to this role, he served as Head of Product Development, North America, and eventually of the Americas. In these roles, he deepened his understanding of the client landscape across the U.S., Canadian and Latin American markets and led the development of investment products.
He joined Schroders in 2013 from The Hartford, a U.S.-based investment and insurance company. During his tenure at The Hartford, he served in various investment product and research roles, most recently as Managing Director of Investment Product Management, where he led the investment strategy and design of the Hartford Funds investment platform. He began his career at FactSet Research Systems Inc. as a Strategic Consultant with direct client ownership in their Investment Management division.
Tom has been integral in developing and strengthening Schroders’ product innovation, including the strategic partnership between Hartford Funds and Schroders, in which Hartford Funds adopted fifteen of Schroders’ mutual funds with Schroders serving as the sub-advisor. The partnership, which launched in 2016, has since seen assets in the fund range grow to over $20 billion in AUM, as of September 2024.
He obtained his MBA in Finance and Investment Management from the Yale School of Management and his BA in Business Administration from Loyola College in Maryland. He also holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Phil Middleton, current CEO Americas, will become Head of UK for Schroders, relocating back to London in Q1 2025. Phil has been with Schroders since 1992 and has had various roles across the business.
Tom and Phil will continue to report to Karine Szenberg, Global Head of Client Group at Schroders.
Tom Darnowski, Incoming CEO Americas, said:
“In over a decade spent at Schroders, I have been consistently impressed with our deep bench of talent, our commitment to our clients, and our focus on innovation across all aspects of our investment platform and business.
