When does the internship programme start?
Our internships are ten week paid placements during the summer and generally take place from June – August.
Am I eligible for the programme?
Our internships are for penultimate year undergraduate students only. Final year students who plan to pursue a Masters year after the internship are also welcome to apply.

We can accept one application per candidate, per region. You may apply to more than one internship programme if the roles are located in different regions.

For our Technology Graduate programme a Computer Science or STEM degree is preferred and experience and/or interest in a programming language is encouraged.
What training and development opportunities will I receive as an intern?
Throughout the ten-week internship you’ll have a number of training and development opportunities which will help equip you with the skills you need to adapt to the world of work, hit the ground running and enable you to make an impact during your time at Schroders.
The events organised as part of your intern development programme will be structured around the following themes:
- Upskilling (technical & behavioural skills)
- Commercial awareness / business acumen
- Building relationships
Do you offer off-cycle internships?
We do not offer off-cycle internships, however we do have a number of FTC/ contract roles available throughout the year, these can be found in the experienced hires section on our website.
Does the intern programme lead to a place on the graduate programme?
We use our internship programme as a feeder to our graduate programme. A place on the graduate programme isn’t guaranteed and will be based on performance and feedback you receive during the internship programme.
Do I have to complete a Schroders internship to be considered for the graduate programme?
No. Despite filling a proportion of the graduate programme places through the internship programme, we do open a number of graduate roles externally each year.
Can I re-apply if I am unsuccessful?
If you are in your penultimate year of a three year course and are unsuccessful this time round, we would encourage you to apply to one of the graduate programmes for the following year.

General enquiries
When can I expect to receive updates on the progress of my application?
We receive large volumes of applications each year and work hard to process all applications as quickly as possible. We aim to provide you with the outcome of each stage as quickly as we can via email:
Online assessments: you’ll receive an automated email if your application is progressed to the online assessment stage with an invite to complete the online assessments. Once this is complete, you’ll receive an automated feedback report with your strengths and areas for development. Upon completion, the early careers recruitment team will follow up with you, this could be up to three weeks, while we continue to screen all applications. If you haven’t received communication from us, your application is still under consideration at this time.
Video interviews: we value the time and effort you’ve put in to your application so far. We review all completed video interviews nearer to the time of the assessment centre for the role to ensure that all candidates have an opportunity to complete a video interview. This may mean you could wait some time before receiving an outcome as we provide hiring managers with a shortlist before inviting individuals to the next stage. If you haven’t received communication from us, your application is still under consideration at this time.
Assessment day: we aim to give you at least one weeks’ notice (and more if we can) ahead of the assessment centre stages. We aim to be flexible and will try to work around your availability if you have exams.
