Head of Wealth Management, Hong Kong
Sandy joined in January 2010 and was head of business development for the private wealth management business until becoming Head of Wealth Management, Hong Kong, in 2013. A chartered accountant, Sandy joined Adam & Company as its first company secretary in 1983 and became deputy managing director in 1991. He joined Martin Currie in 1994 with responsibility for its UK mutual funds and subsequently became managing director of Thornhill in 2003. He is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute. His directorships have included Dunedin Enterprise Investment Trust plc (1998-2006) and Man Alternative Investments Ltd (2001-2004). He was an adviser to Wates Family Holdings from 2005 to 2010 and a Steward of The Jockey Club from 2009-2012.
After graduating in 2003 from Edinburgh University (MA Hons History), Robert worked initially at Penrose Financial doing marketing for institutional fund management companies and hedge funds. He joined in May 2006 and is a Portfolio Director specialising in investment for high net worth individuals and complex family groups. His investment activities are delivered across multiple tax efficient structures. A member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and registered by the Securities & Futures Commission in Hong Kong, Robert has the CISI Diploma and the IMC qualification. He has a total of 11 years' investment experience and is a Responsible Officer for our Type 1, 4 and 9 SFC licenses.
Andrew joined in September 2014 as a Portfolio Director. He was a research analyst with Cazenove Asia Limited (corporate broking) from 2000 to 2003 and from 2005 to 2010. Andrew was responsible for the research of the Asia-Pacific Transportation and Infrastructure sectors and gained significant recognition from institutional clients. He joined his family business in 2010 where he helped to establish a family office and managed the family investments. Andrew graduated from Imperial College London with a Master of Engineering (Honours) degree in 1997 and began his career with Cathay Pacific in Hong Kong.
Assistant Portfolio Manager
Chris joined in October 2014 as an Assistant Portfolio Manager. He started his career as a Counterparty Risk Analyst at UBS Investment Bank in London in 2011, having graduated from the University of York with a degree in Politics with International Relations (BA Hons). Chris moved back to Hong Kong in 2013 and joined China International Fund Management as a Client Portfolio Manager. In his role, he was responsible for distributing funds to private banks, retail banks and IFAs. He has passed all three levels of the CFA program.
