Notification of Participation in the Dormant Assets Scheme – Certain SUTL Funds
Schroder Unit Trusts Limited (“SUTL”) wishes to inform clients of an upcoming change affecting certain SUTL fund
SUTL is now participating in the Dormant Assets Scheme (the “Scheme”), an initiative established under the Dormant Assets Act 2022 and which is supported by the UK Government and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). It allows participants to transfer unclaimed cash balances to the Scheme, provided certain conditions are met (as detailed in the relevant fund prospectus). These funds are then distributed for the benefit of charitable, social, and environmental causes.
This change follows the recent expansion of the Scheme, which now permits participation by large investment and wealth management firms.
Clients’ rights as shareholders/unitholders remain fully protected under this initiative, and clients can reclaim any money that is owed to them under the Scheme at any time.
The prospectuses of affected SUTL funds have been updated to reflect that SUTL may transfer unclaimed monies to the Scheme. Please refer to the relevant fund prospectus for further details on the Scheme and clients’ rights in relation to any unclaimed money transferred to the Scheme.
Please also note that the SUTL Terms and Conditions have been updated to set out that unclaimed or uncashed client money may be transferred to the Scheme. Clients agree to these Terms and Conditions when submitting an application to invest in a SUTL fund.
