We welcome applications from school leavers for our year-long trainee programme and two-year apprenticeship programme.
Both programmes give you a hands-on introduction to investment management, while you develop key skills and build your professional network across the business.
Our focus is on practical training and support, as well as a real job from day one.
We’ll support you to study for and sit the Investment Foundation Certificate. So you’ll finish your year with an industry-recognised professional qualification as well as a foot in the door to a dynamic industry.
This programme is ideal if you’re:
If you’re a graduate and still not sure if it’s right for you, take a look at our graduate scheme.
If you’ve just finished school or college and gained A-levels or BTECs, our apprenticeship programme is a fantastic way to start your career. We’ll offer you a permanent job within our business, as well as a structured programme to support your training and skills development.
This programme is ideal if you’ve decided that university is not the right choice for you and want to earn while you learn. We’ll support you in gaining government-approved qualifications and help you create a springboard to your future career.
As well as practical work experience, we’ll give you formal training designed to build your expertise and aptitudes. All of our apprenticeships are fully accredited with Level 3 and 4 qualifications. Many of our apprentices build long-term careers at Schroders, but wherever your work takes you, you’ll know your training is recognised and valued.
Our trainee and apprenticeship roles are split across our London headquarters and our Horsham office in West Sussex. Roles in Horsham include apprenticeships in Technology and Operations (as part of the Operations Academy trainee programme).
All we need from you is a can-do attitude, a willingness to get stuck in and a flexible attitude to work. We have five core values which underpin our business: passion, innovation, integrity, teamwork and excellence. And we look for these in the people we recruit.
And we’re happy to teach you all you need to know on the job. From day one, you’ll have a dedicated buddy by your side: usually a trainee or apprentice from the year above, who’ll help you navigate your first few months.
You’ll be part of a team from day one. In the first few days we’ll immerse you into investment management and life at Schroders. You’ll meet your line manager and wider team and start learning the basics. And throughout your programme, you’ll take part in a wide range of development opportunities together which are designed to equip you with the knowledge, the network and the soft skills that you’ll use throughout your career.
While you’ll spend most of your time at your desk supporting the work of your team, you’ll get lots of opportunities to take part in training and activities that’ll help you hone your teamwork and start networking. And like everyone else at Schroders, you’ll also have full access to our online learning platform.
Investment20/20 is an investment industry programme that helps us find the best people from all backgrounds and nurture their potential. So you’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet and network with trainees across the industry and participate take part in training, socials and insight events.
Away from the desk take the time to enjoy our vibrant office spaces, whether that’s soaking up some sun on one of the terrace areas, BBQ lunches in the summer, or enjoying a fitness class our free on-site gym.
