Introducing the Schroders Fixed Income Fund
The Schroder Fixed Income Fund is an actively managed, low volatility strategy investing in a range of Australian and international fixed income assets. The objective of the fund is to outperform the Bloomberg AusBond Composite 0+Yr Index after fees over the medium term*, whilst delivering stable absolute returns over time.
*Benchmark previously known as UBS Composite Bond Index.
Steady income on investments
The Fund adopts a Core-Plus investment approach whereby a core portfolio comprised of Australian investment grade bonds is complemented by investments in a diverse range of global and Australian fixed income securities. Investments within the portfolio are actively managed as we seek to ensure we are in the right assets at the right time to maximise returns while maintaining a low risk profile. The targeted result is a defensive fund which is broadly diversified with low correlation to equity markets and designed to deliver steady investment income.
Local insight and experience, backed by global resources
The Schroder fixed income team is well-resourced and highly experienced with seven fixed income professionals who collaborate and share a research platform with the Australian-based multi-asset team and private debt team. The portfolio management team has an average experience of 15 years in fixed income.
The team is well-integrated into the broader Schroders global fixed income team and extensive global network comprising over 300 fund managers and analysts worldwide. This delivers global insight, research and implementation capabilities in key regions and asset classes.
A broad spectrum of investment capabilities
The Schroders Fixed Income Fund benefits from the full application of our investment capabilities including asset allocation (across credit, interest rate and geography), stock selection and risk management, with top-down analysis driving portfolio construction.
We employ a robust and disciplined investment process and risk management framework with an emphasis on competitive risk adjusted returns with low volatility. This is underpinned by extensive research and detailed analysis undertaken by the Australian Fixed Income team and investment professionals across the Schroders Group.
