Schroders' journey began on October 25, 1923, when the J. Henry Schroder Banking Corporation opened its doors in New York. Henry Tiarks, partner of Baron Bruno, expressed his vision to the newly recruited Chief Executive, Prentiss Gray, saying, "I don't care if you don't make a cent in the first ten years, as long as you establish Schroders as a first-class name in New York." This statement set the foundation for the company's commitment to excellence and reputation.

Over the past century, Schroders has navigated through various market cycles and geopolitical events. Throughout these challenges, Schroders has continuously embraced change and adapted to uphold its vision of being a first-class name in New York.
