Schroders’ landmark office building, No. 1 Spinningfields, has been awarded “Platinum” status – the highest standard available – by certification company WiredScore, cementing its position as one of Manchester’s most advanced office buildings.
The tech firm awards certifications based on a building’s digital connectivity and infrastructure, examining facilities such as WiFi strength and speed, the quality of the telecommunications rooms and cable pathways, connectivity resilience – and most importantly, how future-proof the space is, affirming that it can adapt seamlessly to new technological infrastructure.
Additionally, the building has secured an “Excellent” rating from BREEAM, the world’s leading sustainability assessment method for buildings. The building offers several high-efficiency features including a solar-optimised façade; state-of-the-art LED lighting with intelligent control, and energy modelling incorporating heat from the onsite CHP energy centre.
This double win for No. 1 Spinningfields further establishes the building as a world class commercial development. The acquisition of No.1 Spinningfields by a Schroders’ managed fund in 2017 is one of the largest single-asset trades recorded in the region at c.£200m.
