The 2,830 respondents represent a spectrum of institutions, including pension funds, insurance companies, family offices endowments and foundations, official institutions, gatekeepers and wealth and financial advisers. The respondent universe is collectively responsible for US$74.5 trillion in assets.
Key global takeaways
- 70% highlight central bank policy as the top concern for portfolio performance followed by high interest rates (68%) and a potential economic downturn (62%)
- 41% believe the election cycle is short-term noise and will not affect their long-term investment strategy
- 44% believe global alliances on politics and trade will have the biggest impact on investments in the next five years
- 51% highlight they are looking to increase their global equities allocation in the next one-two years
- 80% are either already investing in private markets or plan to do so in the next one-two years
- 53% wish to increase allocations to private equity in the next 12 months, followed by renewable infrastructure equity (45%) and private debt (42%)
