At Schroders, we do not take a “one size fits all” approach to ESG analysis and integration. We have invested in developing a range of proprietary research models and tools to gain insights into social and environmental investment factors. These tools help inform investment decisions where relevant to a particular investment strategy.
We are seeing increased demand for a more tailored investment style to directly benefit from long-term global themes. To focus our analysis on this, we have created ThemEx.
ThemEx seeks to measure the alignment of a company’s products and services to a range of sustainable investment themes, including Schroders’ “super themes” - climate change, natural capital management, demographic shifts, societal change, technological innovation – and the UN’s widely recognised Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Alignment is estimated systematically based on the company’s revenue from its underlying business activities.
