Our approach to responsible business

By embedding strong governance, environmental stewardship and social responsibility into our operations, we help reduce risk, build resilience and contribute positively to local communities and wider society.

Our Corporate Sustainability framework

People

We aim to foster a inclusive, supportive enviornment where our people can achieve their full potential.

Planet

We are transistioning to net zero across operations, reducing our emissions in line with out science based targets.

Collective action

We create positive impact by inspiring collective action for charitable causes in our communities.

Responsible business practices

Including governance, anti-bribery and corruption, human rigths and supply chain management.

Our people and culture

Our purpose is clear: creating prosperity together. Our people bring this to life through their expertise and commitment. Pride in working for Schroders is a central measure of how our people experience our purpose in practice.

We are committed to being an employer of choice and providing meaningful opportunities for growth. We aim to foster an inclusive supportive environment where our people can achieve their full potential.

Our operational climate strategy

Our operational climate strategy focuses on reducing our environmental impact by decreasing energy demand, increasing energy efficiency and transitioning to low-carbon sources of energy. We also engage with our suppliers to encourage and support them in setting their own science-based targets.

Our primary focus is our decarbonisation plan, prioritising actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

We believe there is a role for high-integrity carbon credits in the transition to net zero. They do not contribute to our our science-based targets. However,,However, supporting the voluntary carbon market creates opportunities to drive innovation in climate action projects. See Our use of carbon credits for more.

Supporting environmental and social causes

Investing in our communities and supporting charitable causes demonstrates how we act with purpose. This fosters a sense of pride and belonging among our people and creates a positive impact on society.

Our charity partnerships aim to improve equality and protect the planet. These partnerships can offer opportunities for our people to contribute to positive change in areas such as education, social mobility and the environment. Through our collective action, we committed £5.5 million to charitable causes around the world in 2025.

We have a global partnership with Fauna & Flora – an international wildlife conservation charity –supporting five projects around the world that protect habitats and empower local communities. .
