We were recognised for providing work-life balance, flexible working, good benefits, interesting work and a collegial environment, through employee reviews on Glassdoor.

Our success and ability to deliver for our clients is built on the strength of our culture and our ability to attract and retain outstanding people. We prize our reputation as an employer of choice which has resulted in 96% of our people feeling proud to work for Schroders.*

“We are immensely proud of our culture and, for me, this is the most important thing for protecting our long-term growth,” says Peter Harrison,  Group Chief Executive, who was also recognised as an extraordinary leader in Glassdoor’s Top 50 UK CEOs 2021

Glassdoor provides leading insights about jobs and companies, where employees can anonymously share their workplace experiences.

The Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards recognise the best 50 places to work across the US, Canada, UK, France and Germany, with 1,000 or more employees. The winners for the awards are determined using the employee reviews from the previous year.

Each company receives ratings against nine of Glassdoor’s workplace criteria before it's Economic Research Team reviews the final list. Their criteria includes: overall company rating, career opportunities, compensation and benefits, culture and values, diversity and inclusion, senior management, work-life balance, recommend to a friend and six-month business outlook.

“It's encouraging to see companies doubling down on employee mental health and wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, competitive benefits and flexible work environments as we head into 2023. I sincerely congratulate all of the Best Places to Work winners.” says Christian Sutherland-Wong, Glassdoor Chief Executive Officer.

Schroders and flexible working:

At Schroders, flexibility is for everyone. Our industry-leading flexible working charter is central to our inclusion strategy, opening up opportunities for everyone to adopt flexibility. It’s designed to empower teams and individuals, helping them to navigate working patterns where they can be at their most productive, and deliver for our clients.

In 2022, we were ranked 10 in the UK’s top companies for work-life balance via Glassdoor-based employee reviews.

“The Glassdoor list showcases amazing examples of companies which have implemented multiple initiatives to help protect their employees’ wellbeing. This includes offering flexible working which allows employees to balance their home and work lives in a way that works for them," comments Glassdoor's career trends expert, Jill Cotton.

“The world of working has changed and Schroders is changing with it,” adds Emma Holden, Global Head of HR, Schroders.

Career mobility at Schroders:

We’re committed to helping our people shape their futures and realise their potential and ambition in a rapidly-changing world.

Nicolas Baumgartner, Investment Risk Analyst, talks relocating his job and country of residence to Luxembourg. Nicolas describes the best part about his job at Schroders, “For me it’s that I am learning and being challenged continuously. And that I’m part of team and not a single player, you have to support each other.” Miki Dai, a trader in our Shanghai office shares her career journey from Office Administrator to Trader. “When the trader role came up, at first I didn’t think I’d have the confidence to make the shift from administration to trading, but with their support I realised I had many transferable skills. I’d also started a family so I was thinking about my future and ways I could continue to develop. I listened to everyone’s advice and decided to go for the role.”
