Schroders Gender Pay Disclosure Report

Schroders has now published its gender pay figures for the second year. We were one of the first FTSE 100 companies to voluntarily publish our gender pay data in 2017.

Our gender pay gap is driven by the structure of our workforce and we are confident that it is not a result of unequal pay. The lower representation of women in senior management and other higher-paid roles is what drives the gender pay gap. Our analysis of pay levels for comparable roles shows that male and female employees are paid fairly for similar work, across both Asset Management and Wealth Management. We have made strong progress year-on-year, with 29% of our senior leadership positions filled by female employees. We originally set a target of 30% female representation in senior management roles by the end of 2019, up from 25% at the end of 2015. We then increased this to at least 33% female representation recognising this progress.

We are committed to striving for gender equality across our business and see transparency around gender pay as integral to having more meaningful conversations around equality.

We were also one of the first signatories to the Women in Finance Charter in May 2016. The Women in Finance Charter is a pledge for gender balance across financial services. The charters sets out to build a more gender-balanced and fair sector. Signatories pledge to commit to progressing women in senior roles, setting a strategy with measureable targets and reporting publicly on their progress.

Diversity and inclusion at Schroders are championed at all levels, with our Group Chief Executive, Peter Harrison, acting as our most senior sponsor. Peter, together with the Group Management Committee, is personally accountable for making sure we foster a culture that’s inclusive and that strives for diversity in all that we do across our global workforce.
