Community and social impact

We invest in our communities and support environmental and social causes where we operate.

In 2025 we committed £5.5 million to charitable causes around the world.

Charity partnerships

Our charitable partnerships aim to improve equality and protect the planet. Most charities are selected at a regional or country level, enabling our people to connect with local charities and causes.

These partnerships can offer opportunities for our people to contribute to positive change in areas such as mental health and wellbeing, education, and the environment. In 2025 we launched a new global partnership with Fauna & Flora , an international wildlife conservation charity.

And our people also have their say. They nominate causes close to their hearts in our annual global charity competition. The winners, voted by colleagues are mostly small, local charities where a smaller grant can have a big impact.

Employee giving

We encourage employees to give their time and develop their skills by providing paid volunteering time. We promote a range of opportunities to suit different skills and time commitments, from community gardening and beach cleans to mentoring students from disadvantaged backgrounds and providing ongoing pro bono expertise to social enterprises. . We also offer matching schemes to support fundraising, amplifying our people’s efforts and donating to causes that matter to them.

UK Dormant Assets Scheme

In 2025, we were among the first participants to join the UK Dormant Assets Scheme, which has now expanded into the investments and wealth management sector.

The Scheme allows dormant assets to be channelled into environmental and social causes, while safeguarding the right of customers to reclaim their funds in full at any point.

Our partnership with Fauna & Flora

Schroders is proud to partner with the global nature conservation charity, Fauna & Flora. Through the Schroders Better Futures Fund, we are committing £1 million per year over the next three years to support vital, science-led conservation work across Cambodia, Nicaragua, Romania and Scotland and Uganda.

Fauna & Flora take an evidence-based approach to their projects, which aligns with our corporate sustainability ambitions – to protect wildlife, support communities and address climate change – working with local communities to drive real change for people and the planet.

What is our partnership supporting?

We asked employees to vote on which of Fauna & Flora’s projects they would like to support. Over three years, our donated funds will be supporting five key projects which aim to protect the planet and drive meaningful change where it matters most.

  • Cambodia: Working with local communities to protect coastal and marine environments that underpin their economy, culture, and climate stability.
  • Nicaragua: Supporting coastal communities in conserving endangered marine turtles and their habitats in the eastern Pacific through community-led monitoring, research, and behaviour change campaigns.
  • Romania: Reconnecting wild landscapes to support bear, wolf, and large carnivore movement across the Carpathians, and assisting livestock farmers to coexist sustainably with wildlife.
  • Scotland: Enabling coastal and island communities to participate in safeguarding marine resources and restoring precious habitats.
  • Uganda: Helping communities in the Albertine Rift adopt nature-friendly, climate-resilient farming, restoring natural corridors between forest fragments, and fostering harmonious living alongside chimpanzees.

Our partnership is a powerful demonstration of our commitment to sustainable investing and protecting global biodiversity: a fundamental step for building lasting prosperity.
