Schroders signs up to Charter for Black Talent in Finance and the Professions

Schroders is today announcing it has become a signatory of the Charter for Black Talent in Finance and the Professions, which calls for meaningful action to redress the balance for Black professionals in the workplace.

The Charter focuses on Black talent in the industry and aims to go beyond statements to deliver ambitious targets and measurable data for recruitment, career progression and promotion.

It supports the introduction of clear action plans to enhance the equality of opportunities, encouraging these to be overseen by firms’ senior leadership.

Johanna Kyrklund, Schroders Group Chief Investment Officer and executive sponsor for the Black Talent Charter, commented:

“At Schroders, we believe that diversity of thought is critical to succeeding in modern business and, as a signatory of the Black Talent Charter, we are committed to accelerating that change

“Attracting and retaining talented people who can understand and embrace different perspectives ultimately leads to more insightful and innovative perspectives for our clients.”

Schroders is committed to promoting diversity, having been one of the first signatories and founding partners of Change the Race Ratio, a campaign set up by the CBI to increase racial and ethnic participation in British business.
