Becoming one of us takes individual talent, the ability to work together, and a passion for putting clients first. With diversity such an important part of our offer, there's no one Schroders type. But all of us do share a belief in five core values - our guiding principles:
We challenge how things are done and anticipate future opportunities.
We work as one team for our clients. We value the contribution of individuals and encourage healthy debate.
We share a deep-rooted enthusiasm for what we do. We demonstrate this through the dedication and energy we bring to servicing our clients.
We build strong relationships based on trust and confidentiality.
The onus is on us to make the most of the talent at Schroders. That's why we have created a working environment that is open, collaborative and meritocratic. Highly diverse in the nationalities represented at Schroders - we work hard at nurturing a culture of inclusivity and respect across the world.
We see employee retention as a key client benefit - helping us to foster the deep and lasting relationships that our continued success relies on. And so each individual joining Schroders can expect the same opportunities to learn, grow and progress within the firm. But don't just take our word for it! When we asked our people what they thought about life at Schroders, this is what they told us...
are proud to be associated
feel they are treated with fairness and respect
feel that Schroders recognises and values diversity among its employees
Diversity of thought and experience has always been at the heart of Schroders. And providing an inclusive environment where ideas are heard and debated is one of the keys to our long-term success. That's why we focus on attracting, developing and retaining a diverse team across our business. Talented people are celebrated and valued at Schroders whatever their age, race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, beliefs or other characteristics. We're blind to difference but always open to different ways of thinking.
With such emphasis on the quality of our talent, it's no surprise that we invest so heavily in our people. Everyone at Schroders is offered experiences and opportunities to grow their knowledge, skills and capabilities.
We've built a business with broad capabilities, specialist knowledge and deep experience, allowing us to create lasting value for our clients, our people, our business and our shareholders.
Our people are key to the ongoing success of the business. We are proud of our reputation as an employer of choice and work to support the talented people who drive our business.
In the UK, our Parents and Family Leave Policy is designed to support our employees who go on maternity, paternity, parental, adoption or shared parental leave as well as employees who are parents of older children.
We also provide a number of support and coaching services to help make the return to work as smooth as possible. For example, ‘Keeping In Touch’ days and maternity coaching workshops ensure colleagues feel supported and prepared for managing their new responsibilities.
Specifically, with regard to maternity leave, UK employees are entitled to take statutory maternity leave of up to 52 weeks (with enhanced pay for 1-18 weeks, statutory pay from 19-39 weeks, unpaid for 40-52 weeks) regardless of how long they have worked at the company, entitled to reasonable paid time off, and continue to be entitled to their benefits during the ordinary maternity leave period.
Disclaimer: Employee benefits may vary by country/region to comply with local legislation. The above is just an example of the type of support Schroders offers to employees.
