A year long fixed-term contract for school leavers. The traineeship delivers valuable training and practical, paid work experience. The programme combines formal training from experts inside Schroders and from across the industry. There are opportunities and support to gain formal qualifications and lots of chances to build lasting professional relationships.
For those unsure if university is the right choice for them, this is a great entry point for anyone wanting to explore a career in the investment management industry.
This is a permanent, salaried position offering an entry-level role at Schroders for school leavers. There are apprenticeship opportunities in teams across our business. Each offers the chance to gain expertise and experience in a diverse range of professions, from fund management to research, marketing, finance and technology.
As well as practical work experience, the initial two years of the programme include formal training designed to build expertise and personal capabilities. All of our apprenticeships are fully accredited. Many of our apprentices build long-term careers at Schroders, but wherever their work takes them, they know their training is recognised and valued.
Since 2019, we’ve recruited apprentices and trainees in to Technology and Operations roles in our new Broadlands Business Campus near Horsham in West Sussex. As it’s a brand new site and a brand new team, we’re looking for people who are excited about setting things up, developing ideas, and working across teams. It’s a chance to shape how we work rather than slot into an established structure.
Whether you are a school leaver or a graduate, and whether you are interested in our traineeship or our apprenticeship programme, we’re looking for people who have the talent and drive to learn new skills and take on new challenges.
This means you’ll need to be an ambitious self-starter – someone with the determination to make the most of the opportunities we offer to learn about our business and a pro-active attitude that will relish the opportunity to earn while you learn.
We have traineeship and apprenticeship opportunities in multiple teams across our business. Whichever team you join, you’ll be given training so that you learn about all aspects of our business. You could be involved in IT, Compliance, Tax, Risk, Operations or Sales and Marketing. Whichever team you join, you'll be supported in developing not only your technical understanding of asset management, but also your competencies and interpersonal skills. Select the apply now button to view all the opportunities available to you when they open to applications in February.
Although we usually ask you to have achieved at least 96 UCAS points to be eligible for this role, we appreciate the need to be flexible given the on-going pandemic and disruption to your school/ college life. If you’ve achieved a little under 96 UCAS points in the academic year 20/21, we would still encourage you to apply. You must be 18 years old by Monday 6 September to apply for the 2021 intake.
You’ll need to match our Schroders values of integrity, passion, teamwork, innovation and excellence. We also look for particular skills that are useful in all our business areas. We don’t expect you to be strong in them all, so when you apply, let us know which areas are your strongest and we’ll try to make sure you join the business area that suits your strengths.
