William Lin
Independent non-executive Director
William was appointed as an independent non-executive Director in May 2026.
William is Executive Vice President, Gas and Low Carbon Energy at bp and a member of bp’s Executive Committee. He is responsible for bp’s global natural gas and liquefied natural gas businesses, together with a portfolio of low carbon energy businesses across key markets. His remit also includes regional and reputational oversight of the US, China and India as well as managing bp’s non-operated joint ventures and strategic partnerships around the world.
William brings extensive international experience in leading large-scale change alongside business performance delivery. His global perspective, including deep experience in Asia, together with his leadership of major transformation programmes, is a valuable addition to the Board.
External appointments: Non-executive Director of Corbion N.V.; Non-executive Director of Pan American Energy; Chair of JERA Nex bp.
