At Schroders we do not take a ‘one size fits all’ approach to ESG integration. We understand that different asset classes require different methods to integrate ESG into their investment processes effectively. We have therefore developed a suite of research based and quantitative ESG investment tools which provide insights to empower our investors to make decisions.
CONTEXTTM provides a highly structured but customisable approach to sustainability analysis. It is used extensively across our investment desks to create bespoke company ESG analysis blending both qualitative and quantative information.
Using a stakeholder analysis framework combined with a dictionary of metrics spanning a vast range of ESG topics, CONTEXT empowers investors to make informed decisions by providing insights into companies' strengths and weaknesses. The application allows investors to tailor the tool and its analysis for different asset classes and sectors to inform investment decisions, meaning companies can be analysed on a relative basis – in the ‘context’ of their peers – while allowing the flexibility for differentiated investor views, philosophies, and processes.
